47 miles with 3 laps of rolling hills, one long climb on each lap with the third/fourth? time being the finish at the top.
me - 7th and 4th
Jenny - 1st
Hot when there was no breeze on the hill; felt like there was a moderate headwind most of the time in every direction we went.
Amy and Jenny

Looking at the pre-reg, we went into the race knowing our numbers outweighed everyone so we wanted to have a plan that we could carry out.
The field was pretty small with 12 and so we wanted to keep the pace high to see who would tire. In the first lap, Jenny went out front but no one seemed concerned, it seemed like she did a whole lap on her own. She eventually got swallowed up by the group and then I set a good pace and led the group for another 1/2 lap. On the second to last time up the big hill, Amy launched and was gone over the top. Immediately, Jenny and I soft pedaled and let others chase her down. One other rider caught her and they were never to be seen again, except at the finish line cheering the rest of us on while we tackled the final climb.
· Having a plan that we could execute was great
· Every race offers more opportunities to learn
· Debriefing and running through different scenarios is invaluable
